VECTOR Informatik GmbH acquires EYYES GmbH
Stuttgart (DE) / Gedersdorf (AT): The software specialist VECTOR Informatik, based in Stuttgart, is acquiring most of the shares in EYYES GmbH.
EYYES will continue its business activities independently in the future.
“With the acquisition of the majority of the AI specialist EYYES, VECTOR is participating in a strategically interesting and innovative company in the field of driver assistance systems for rail and commercial vehicles. We particularly see significant synergies in the technological environment,” explains VECTOR CEO Thomas Riegraf.
“This strategic partnership with VECTOR as the new majority owner ensures that we are perceived as a future-oriented partner for large and series projects with OEMs and Tier-1s and can successfully continue our growth path,” emphasizes Dipl. Ing. Johannes Traxler, founder and CEO of EYYES.
With over 35 years of experience, VECTOR is a competent partner in electronics and software development for embedded systems. With 33 locations worldwide, more than 4,000 employees support customers with a professional platform of tools, software components, and services for the development of embedded systems. VECTOR’s broad product range enables comprehensive testing at the system, functional, and code levels of distributed embedded systems.
With 28 employees, EYYES currently employs AI experts in Austria and Germany (Gedersdorf near Krems/Donau, in Aachen and Freital). EYYES is a pioneer in the field of driver assistance functions and traffic perception with artificial intelligence based on camera sensor technology. EYYES offers warning systems with patented technology for front collision, approach, reversing, collision and turn-off warning as assistance systems. The products are used in the rail sector for trams, in the automotive sector for commercial vehicles and construction machinery and in traffic.
For rail and commercial vehicles, EYYES offers customized solutions for various types of vehicles. The intelligent sensors are also used in stationary cameras, such as for the improved control of traffic lights with integrated automatic recognition of wheelchair users. Additionally, EYYES is involved in various research projects on the use of Artificial Intelligence in traffic to make the world safer with AI.
