Vision Zero Award for the CAREYE® Safety Angle
Vienna/Constance – Comparing 2020 and 2021, there was a sad record increase of +21% in fatal accidents involving cyclists in Austria, the highest value in 30 years. Particularly many of these accidents happen when turning trucks overlook bicycles in the blind spot.
“Our CarEye® Safety Angle is able to unerringly detect and predict the direction of movement of pedestrians, cyclists and objects. It warns drivers acoustically and visually in real time before a potential collision occurs and remains operational even in the most adverse light and weather conditions. At the same time, the CarEye® Safety Angle significantly minimises false alarms and only triggers alarms when there is a real risk of collision. Especially for customers from urban areas, the support provided by our system is a great added value,” explains Dr. Wolfgang Domann, Managing Director of EYYES GmbH.
“This is made possible by the use of state-of-the-art artificial intelligence (AI) based on neural networks (deep learning). With artificial intelligence, we unerringly detect pedestrians and cyclists, even in the second row behind parked cars. Furthermore, we cover a monitoring area of up to 10m length x 6m width next to the vehicle as a blind spot area. This clearly distinguishes our system from all others on the market.” Dr Wolfgang Domann continues.
The Society for Medical and Technical Trauma Biomechanics (gmttb) honoured the product development and presented EYYES with the “Vision Zero Award”. EYYES received the award at this year’s gmttb annual conference on 20.10.2022 in Constance.
Test winner
EYYES is leading the market with this innovative technology. Responsibility for safety is our top priority. Due to the low false warning rate, our CarEye® Safety Angle emerged as the test winner in the ADAC comparison in 2021. Only recently, we were awarded the CLEPA Award in the category “Smart & Safe” with 3rd place for our product.
Meanwhile, EYYES also covers other areas with its assistance systems. With the CarEye® Safety Assistant Suite, which was recently launched on the market, further systems offer added value for traffic and occupational safety. The basis for this is provided by the CarEye® Safety Angle, which is used by satisfied customers such as VOLVO Trucks, Zwettler & Trans Hohl.
EYYES offers different systems for construction machinery, agricultural machinery and special vehicles, among others. The systems can be retrofitted to almost all vehicles and can be easily installed in the workshop responsible for the customer.
