RailEye® Blind-Spot Assistant
RailEye® Blind-Spot Assistant
The Blind Spot Assistant or Turning Assistant from EYYES for rail vehicles is based on the same technology as the turning assistant CarEye® Safety Angle (CSA), which was awarded a test prize by the ADAC.
As the next generation of intelligent turn assistants, the system reliably detects pedestrians and cyclists in a large monitoring area to the side of the vehicle. In dangerous situations, it warns the driver with acoustic and visual signals to avoid a possible collision.
Integrated Artificial Intelligence
1. Detection of pedestrians and cyclists up to 10 m in the direction of the rear of the vehicle
2. Detection of pedestrians and cyclists in the second row of the vehicle
3. Detection of pedestrians and cyclists to the side of the vehicle front.
SIGNAL STRATEGY
- Objects are recognised and classified. This allows a distinction to be made between cars, lorries, people, bicycles, … and static objects (trees, bollards, …).
- The expected direction of movement of the detected objects is calculated (trajectory). If an object is in the danger zone but is moving away from it, only a warning (yellow light signal) is emitted.
- The driver only receives a warning (red light and acoustic signal) if there is a specific risk of collision (minimised error rate).
- Among other things, the direction of movement of the driver’s own vehicle and the calculated probable direction of movement of the object are used for this purpose. If both vectors overlap, a warning is issued.
