RailEye® Coupling Monitoring

The coupling area on trams is one of the most obscure areas on coupled vehicles. If a person gets between the vehicles, there is a high risk of fatal injury, for example when the tram is moving away from the stopping area. In order to be able to check this area before approaching, the EYYES coupling monitoring system checks whether there are any persons in this area.

If this is the case, the driver is warned of this danger by a visual and acoustic warning signal before departure.

Due to the possibility of data transfer to the infrastructure of the rail vehicle, intervention in the braking system is possible.
